Seminars and Speakers

Interactive Learning Stream

This year our seminar programme has been totally shaken up and instead we'll have interactive learning streams on some key areas affecting our youth and children’s work. These streams will be really practical (and yes interactive!) as we mix up top quality input with conversation, discussion, reflection and prayer that will equip us to work in the places God has called us.

Creative Bible Engagement

God’s word is good! But it’s often a challenge to engage with it effectively ourselves and to unlock its goodness for the children and young people that we work with, whether within the church or not.  This learning stream will equip us to do both of these things, helping us to feed ourselves and to disciple our young people in a way that will set them on fire for God in 21st century Scotland.

Frontline Youth Mission

Pioneer missionaries aren’t found roaming jungles in Africa any more, they are found in our urban (and rural) jungles of tarmac and lamp-posts.  This learning stream is bursting with new ideas for those working with young people who have never seen a Bible! We’ll be looking at everything from how we can disciple and mentor these young people through to what church might look like for them.

Leadership is tough. But wherever we are in our youth or children’s work, church or community context, good leadership is essential for us and those around us to flourish.  This learning stream will explore what good leadership looks like, the values, vision and character of a leader, how to grow in leadership ourselves and how to lead young people, volunteers and staff well wherever God has placed us.

Youth Work Learning Community

A Learning Community is an environment of training in which thoughts and ideas are provoked through input, discussion and exercises.  Each group involved will work on critiquing, developing and planning for their own youth work but in the process of feedback and discussion this will naturally challenge, equip and encourage others in their own journey.  Our taster Deep Impact learning community will be looking at how we develop our Youth work to have a discipleship culture; being disciples who make disciples. Perfect to attend with your team.

Children’s Ministry

Tired of doing children’s work the same old way? With fresh insights, new ideas and encouragement to think out the box, we endeavour to help see your ministry to children with a new set of eyes. With space for interaction with children’s workers across Scotland, we’ll be digging into hot topics as well as hearing from you. We aspire to resource and equip a community of people who long to see our children living out their faith in Jesus today!
